We celebrated 16 years of marriage December 17th. Brian planned a wonderful evening away at Rochelle's favorite bed and breakfast. We also enjoyed a wonderful meal at Rochelle's favorite restaurant. The children were well cared for by some dear friends which made our time away even more of a blessing. Thanks Chad and Janet and praise the Lord for time away to celebrate our anniversary!

Brian gets older, or more mature
The children always enjoy celebrating birthdays. If you asked the children what their Dad really likes you would probably say chocolate or candy. Well Brian did get some chocolate and candy but Noah made sure Dad wouldn't get out of shape with the gift he specially chose. Look out Brian just might get that 6 pack yet!
Unexpected visit to PA
We made an unexpected trip to PA this November. Sadly a dear friend of ours passed away and then 2 days later Rochelle's uncle was killed in a car accident. While the reason for the trip was not a good one the time with family is always a blessing. We were especially blessed to be able to share Thanksgiving with our loved ones. Some highlights included Sara's first real experience on the farm where Brian grew up and spending some time with friends who recently adopted a beautiful little girl from China.
Rochelle turns, oh nevermind
Noah turns 11
This year Noah got a special treat, his grandparents were visiting over his birthday. We spent some time in Colorado and came home on Noah's birthday. Noah requested a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing but mom forgot to put sugar in the cake so it's a good thing there is a Dairy Queen less than 5 minutes away. We had ice cream cake instead, Noah wasn't too disappointed with the last minute change in plans.

Mercy turns 5
Mercy's birthday actually fell on Labor Day this year. Mercy like other little people her age just could hardly wait for her special day. Mercy enjoyed new shoes, play makeup, and a pretend vanity complete with mirror, makeup drawer and stool. Mercy also gets to go on a special date with Mom and Dad for dinner and some shopping instead of having a party.
Time at the cabin
Rochelle and the 4 younger children speant some time at the cabin in Colorado while Noah and Brian went backpacking. We just did some relaxing in the beautiful sunshine and of course there had to be time for the hot tub. Rochelle stayed clear of the hot tub since the kids treated it more like a small swimming pool then something to just relax in.
Noah's first backpacking camping trip
Noah, Brian, a friend of ours, and his college buddy all went backpacking for 2 days and 2 nights in the San Juan mountains of Colorado. They had great weather. Noah was a little nervous about the wildlife that might come visiting they campsite at night but the Lord kept them safe and they had a wonderful time. They even caught a fish that had a mouse in it's stomach.

Happy Birthday Lydia!
Our second child turned 9 today. It hardly seems possible that next year we will have two children in the double digits of 10 and 12. Lydia requested a date with Mom and Dad alone instead of a birthday party. Lydia's favorite place to eat is the "Panda Garden," which is a local Chinese place. We then took Lydia to spend some birthday money. Lydia decided she wanted to get her ears pierced and so we did that as well.

Easter worship at Angel Peak
We worshiped our risen Lord at Angel Peak as the Freedom of Nations. It was sunny and beautiful with a little wind. Angel Peal over looks alot of rocky terrain that sort of reminds you of a mini Grand Canyon. Johny B praised the Lord with his drum singing scripture passages in Navajo. We also shared together in some traditional Anglo style hymns. After a time of sharing and hearing from the Word we shared a meal together.
Easter at the Myers home
We decorated eggs as family the day before Easter. We hadn't anticipated Sara decorating eggs but she insisted getting in on the action. The children hunted for baskets of goodies Easter morning and then later that evening they enjoyed an egg hunt at the Crider's where we have Sunday night Bible study. The children really enjoyed themselves. It was Sara'a first egg hunt and she wasted no time figuring out what to do. She wanted to continue long after the last egg was discovered. As you can see from the pics eggs hunts in NM look a good deal different than ones from back east. Here we have sage brush, sand, yucca plant, and rocks.
