Our second child turned 9 today. It hardly seems possible that next year we will have two children in the double digits of 10 and 12. Lydia requested a date with Mom and Dad alone instead of a birthday party. Lydia's favorite place to eat is the "Panda Garden," which is a local Chinese place. We then took Lydia to spend some birthday money. Lydia decided she wanted to get her ears pierced and so we did that as well.

Easter worship at Angel Peak
We worshiped our risen Lord at Angel Peak as the Freedom of Nations. It was sunny and beautiful with a little wind. Angel Peal over looks alot of rocky terrain that sort of reminds you of a mini Grand Canyon. Johny B praised the Lord with his drum singing scripture passages in Navajo. We also shared together in some traditional Anglo style hymns. After a time of sharing and hearing from the Word we shared a meal together.
Easter at the Myers home
We decorated eggs as family the day before Easter. We hadn't anticipated Sara decorating eggs but she insisted getting in on the action. The children hunted for baskets of goodies Easter morning and then later that evening they enjoyed an egg hunt at the Crider's where we have Sunday night Bible study. The children really enjoyed themselves. It was Sara'a first egg hunt and she wasted no time figuring out what to do. She wanted to continue long after the last egg was discovered. As you can see from the pics eggs hunts in NM look a good deal different than ones from back east. Here we have sage brush, sand, yucca plant, and rocks.
Bunnies for Elijah and Mercy
Last year, Elijah asked for a pet for his birthday, so we got him a fish. Sadly the fish died and Elijah said, "Mommy I want a pet I can hold." This created a bit of a dilema because we did not want another cat or dog and mom does not do inside rodents. We suggest a bunny that could be housed outdoors. Elijah loved the idea, but it would be a little while until there were any bunnies that we could get. Daddy surprised Elijah the last day of March with his very own bunny. Elijah and Daddy set out to build the bunny a cage the very same day. When they were done Daddy thought the cage could hold at least two bunnies. Mercy was happy to hear this because she too wanted a bunny. Mom wasn't really agreement with this but less than a week and a half later we had two bunnies. Elijah named his Pepper and Mercy named hers Princess, Rainbow, Brownie, it just depends what mood she is in!

A great Winter!
We sure did enjoy our winter season. We got to enjoy a good snow several times this year which can be highly unusual in these parts. We also tried some new winter sports as a family. Noah tried snowboarding with his Dad and Elijah, Lydia, and Rochelle tried skiing. We really enjoyed it and hope to be able to do it again in the future. Lydia and Rochelle got to ride the Silverton train this winter and enjoyed some spectacular scenery including some mountain sheep.
